What better way to kickstart the summer than with a fantastic week of innovative technology, beautiful design and a group of amazing and talented people! This year at NeoCon2022 we saw some stunning products and got to share our love of all things design. If you missed it don’t panic, we have the full scoop of our time there and we’re sharing it with you!
Last week our team headed to the windy city to curate and exhibit at NeoCon2022. We partnered with I+S magazine to present five forecasted trends that will drive product development across all commercial design categories. Along with beautiful imagery and color palettes, we displayed some amazing products that were submitted by leaders in the industry at our Trend Futures exhibition. These trends will be principals of designs in 2023 and beyond. We even started to see their influence in some of the new products displayed at the show.

We had a great time putting these trends together. The “Big Talk” chair by Scandinavian Spaces was for sure the talk of the town. We also had some stunning samples from our partners at Koroseal, Tilebar, LebaTex, Townsend, York, and Artline. We had the honor of hosting the grand prize winner of Formicas annual FORM student innovation competition. Sarah Dezember and Wenhan Zhang from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago created “Twins Table” an inventive and stylish foldable table that comes in a variety of Formica® Laminate woodgrains, colors and patterns. Stacy also gave a talk with Robert Nieminen (chief content director of Endeavor Business Media) on NFTs and the trends displayed. Each trend presented also featured a selection of NFTs that reflected the space in which it was located. We’re so excited to see how design and technology will continue to flourish throughout the industry. These gorgeous pieces of art were brought to us by David Cohen (Co-Founder at Artistic Design Works) and Saphira & Ventura. This year we had the honor of hosting NeoCon’s first ever Pride party. Seeing as NeoCon takes place during Pride month, it was a no-brainer to celebrate during this week with a showroom full of amazing industry professionals, a fantastic DJ (thanks DJ Royce Epstein!) and some great new friends! We also heard some beautiful words from IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl Durst who reminded us that “we need communities that aren’t represented in our profession to understand that this career is important, that this career changes lives and that design is empowering”. Well said Cheryl!
